Take a quick trip about 17 miles west of Burlington and you will find yourself in the charming coastal city of Anacortes, Washington located on Fidalgo Island. Known as the gateway to the San Juan Islands there is a little of everything for visitors to experience in this beautiful city.

 

Spend the day strolling the streets and encounter everything from small cafes and art galleries to interesting shops and fine dining. Once the sun sets you can test your luck at the nearby Swinomish Lodge and Casino or catch a production at the local Anacortes Community Theater.

 

Get a true feel for Anacortes culture by enjoying one of its many local festivals throughout the year such as the Waterfront Festival, the Anacortes Arts Festival or the yearly motorcycle “Oyster Run.”

 

The vast natural beauty of region provides no shortage of outdoor recreation and beauty for you to enjoy while you’re here in Anacortes. Play a round of golf at Swinomish Golf Links, venture out on a whale watching or kayaking excursion, or head over to Washington Park for a picnic and a hike on a sunny afternoon. 

 

Take a quick ride 7 miles west to nearby Deception Pass to take advantage of the 4,134-acre park with ample campgrounds and beautiful shoreline to explore.
